Furry Sex on the Tyra Banks Show! Yaaaay!... go to hell

Zaaz: For those of you who haven’t been on Fur Affinity in the last 24 hours, the Tyra Banks Show was kind enough to put on a furry couple for their episode of ‘weird bedroom fetishes’, or whatever. BRAVO you dumb ass furs! Bra-the-fek-o. They made it quite clear what furries are, “Furries are people who like to dress up as their inner animal, go to conventions, and have sex together in costume. … There’s strategically placed holes.” Seriously!

I know that this is an entire fandom and that our poor little podcast does not have the ability to change things over night, but it’s crap like this that makes me regret ever starting into this journey. Why do I even bother putting the work into this site and organizing all these recording when people just go onto national TV and set us not a step, but MILES back in the public eye. Is there’s anything that can actually be done to fix this crap hole known as the furry fandom? The only solution is to let it implode on itself, as I quietly walk away.

    I know, it pissed me off as well, when I heard about it. I was just furious that she spoke for all of us. x_x

    But on the other hand, the fandom's biggest problem is drama, and that was like a wildfire. I know it's a big deal and this was the worst thing a furry couple could do, but in a lot of cases, we gotta calm down and thank God that it wasn't ourselves being there.

    So what I'm trying to say is that: We gotta stop being llamas, and realize that she was embarrassing herself only and that she keeps this kind of stuff in the bedroom. I'm relieved about that.

    We gotta stop the drama, because that's the worst thing the fandom has, and not the yiff. You can't stop an interest, because people will still like it somehow. But we gotta stop something that keeps not only the media pushing us, but also pushing us down emotionally.

    More art, less drama!

      Very true and a valid point. Furries tend to react very knee jerk to any kind of negative situation. But unfortunately, we're such a small populous that the people watching that show, combined with all the other negative media they see on the fandom, those two furs WERE talking on behalf of all of us. That's how a prejudice towards us was forged, and prejudices take a long time to break.

    This just makes me wish even harder that there was a distinction between the crazies and those who are just in the fandom for the people and the artwork. Let that whole other side die its own lonely death. Let me make a distinction, Not all fur-suiters, just the bad-media ones.

    The funniest thing about all of this is the way most people react to it xD I mean, this may sound stupid, but I don't care about any negativity to be honest...I must be weird or dumb, or slow...or braindead, but nothing(and I mean NOTHING) will take away my love for looking at the art on fA, especially other people(Iam mainly in the fandom for the art, and the nicer furs like Nulizz, and you guys.). I bet I am the only fur on earth to say this, but maybe everyone pays attention to the media too much, and maybe we are trying to hard to e noticed and treated differently...I think that the damage is done though, and that ignoring the media wouldn't be very smart...

    God that sounds like gibberish... Sorry for wasting your pixels guys x_x;;;;
